(with good reason, it's a wonderful old gun.)
There's a lot of people looking for info on the 69a.
The 9422M comes in second, the 1897 third.
I'm headed up to Kittery at the end of the month to check out a used .50 cal Winchester Apex Magnum Muzzleloader, I know it's not REALLY a Winchester (I think they're made in Spain) but it's all that's in the budget right now, and sooner or later the D.E.M. is going to bust me for deer hunting with the 30'06,
so I feel the need to get something legit.
Maybe I'll get lucky and find a 54 or a 61 or an M1 carbine that needs some TLC, you never know.

Cool site. I have a 69a I inherited from my father in law. I found your website researching the Winchester model 74. I was researching it because a member of an online group I am part of mentioned he owns one. The online group is The Liberal Gun Club. Greetings! I purchased a Model 74 a while back and decided last night to take her down for a good cleaning. After taking out the main screw that holds the stock to the barrel/action the stock would not separate. I figured the pin going through the stock was holding it together. After punching the pin out the two components separated. Here lies the problem; it seems the pin also held the trigger and some form of "trigger spring". I have no idea how this spring needs to sit when I reassemble. If anyone can send me a photo or instructions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help.
Im not really sure how to go about this...I own guns from being married to a redneck and got into hunting. Ive divorced and kept my guns, but lost my redneck ways. I own a springfield 30-06 like the one in the picture you say is a model 70. its not new though. I'm trying to sell it to pay for my wedding! :) Id like to get what its worth, and everyone always said, "dont get rid of that gun...its worth something". So I hope you can help me...if so, I'll email pictures. thanks!
